PS: All images scalped form my home machine and are on purpose chosen based on simplicity. I am stuck with the outdated A-Illustrator CS6 with the Hotdoor cad tools plug in. CADtools adds 92 drawing, editing, labeling, dimensioning, transformation, creation, and utility tools organized in 10 tool groups in the Adobe Illustrator. Painting colors this way can be quite a good idea. A-D due to the lack of dimensioning features. Then last but not least the trip from Illustration software to Photoshop is short but not always easy. Then there's the possibility of actually working in tandem with your CAD/Math application. ![]() The problem is how this relates to Windows 7 which it appears Adobe is leaving behind, focusing on having the suite work on Windows 10. According to Hot Door it is Adobe's problem because of how they changed interface scaling for AI 2019. Image 1: More traditional line illustrations made with Illustrator After trying several options suggested by Hot Door (developer of CADtools) nothing has worked. Some of these capabilities include design, editing, tagging, dimensions, conversion, creation, and more, all of which are very important and valuable in performing advanced and complex projects. Each of these groups will provide you with special facilities and capabilities. ![]() One should not discount this as engineering is about documentation and good pictures are definitely something that can make any documentation much more likely to be read. The Hot Door CADtools tool consists of 10 groups of tools. ![]() Illustrator is better at certain things than corresponding engineering applications because it allows you to preview the look and feel. They are much like CAD applications with a what you see is what you get like preview, so CAD for graphics design if you may. A vector drawing tool like Illustrator, Inkscape, Xara etc.
